Shape, prune, and deadhead your plants when needed

Once you take on the responsibility of a garden. Make sure you understand the needs of the plants you have. If you put in a hedge, find out when the best time to trim that particular variety is. If you have perennials, make them last by deadheading them regularly. A bush can get straggly at times, so learn when the best time to shape your shrubs would be, so you can plan these tasks effectively.
