Drought Tolerant Plant: A plant that can survive with less than the usual rain fall in it’s particular growing season and climate. Drought tolerant plants still need to be watered in properly at the time of planting, but will grow and bloom well in maturity with no extra watering outside of natural rain. Drought tolerant plants such as portulaca, geranium, fescue, coneflower and sedum will tend to do even better in an environment with mulch.
